February 12, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Nehls today announces he was assigned as Ranking Member of the House Veterans' Affairs Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs (DAMA).

"I'm honored to be the leading Republican on the House Veterans' Affairs Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs,"  Congressman Nehls. "It is a great opportunity for me to give back to my fellow veterans and ensure they and their families are receiving the care, attention, and benefits they've earned," said Congressman Nehls.

The House Veterans' Affairs Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs has legislative, oversight, and investigative jurisdiction over compensation; general and special pensions of all the wars of the United States.

“Rep. Nehls has served overseas and seen the costs of war firsthand. He knows how important it is that veterans, families, and survivors are not burdened with bureaucracy and have easy access to the benefits they have earned. That’s why I am excited he will be leading the Republicans on the Subcommittee on Disability Assistance & Memorial Affairs. I look forward to working with him to deliver on our promises to veterans and military families,” said Ranking Member Bost.

Ranking Member Mike Bost (R-IL) leads the Republicans on the House Veterans' Affairs Committee. Congressman Nehls will serve on the DAMA Subcommittee with fellow freshmen Republicans Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA) and Barry Moore (R-AL).
