Rep. Nehls Votes Against Raising the Debt Ceiling
Washington, DC — Yesterday, Congressman Troy E. Nehls(R-TX-22) voted NO on H.Res. 716, a measure that would raise the debt ceiling by $480 billion. He released the following statement:
"Speaker Pelosi brought lawmakers up to Washington, D.C. to vote on another divisive measure: Democrats' plan to hike the debt ceiling," said Congressman Nehls. "This debt hike will allow the Democrats to pile up more debt while they continue attempts to jam through trillions for their socialist tax-and-spend agenda. As a watchdog for the American taxpayer, I would not be representing my constituents if I didn't oppose this effort to advance the Biden Administration's wasteful spending that will only hurt American's wallets and leave our children and grandchildren with a massive debt that they will be shouldering for years to come."
