Rep. Troy E. Nehls Opposes FY23 Omnibus Spending Bill

December 23, 2022

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Troy E. Nehls (R-TX-22) released the following statement after voting against the FY23 Omnibus spending bill:

"This is a reckless 4,155-page, $1.7 trillion spending bill, on top of the $3 trillion that Democrats have already spent outside the normal appropriations process in the last two years. This bill does not address our nation's most pressing issues, like securing our southern border, and instead gives away $47 billion more to Ukraine," said Congressman Nehls. "This Administration has always put the best interests of the American people last, and this behemoth of a bill is no different. Democrats have ignored the American voters, who gave Republicans back the House majority beginning January 3rd by cramming this bill through Congress at the last minute. Congressional support for this legislation reinforces everything that is wrong with Washington and furthers the divide between the American people and the DC swamp."
