Rep. Troy E. Nehls’ Statement After Voting Against Short-Term CR

February 29, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C.  Today, Congressman Troy E. Nehls (R-TX-22) released the following statement after voting against the short-term continuing resolution (CR), which would extend Biden-Pelosi spending levels for four appropriations bills until March 8, 2024, and the remaining eight appropriations bills until March 22, 2024:

“We cannot continue to kick the can down the road,” said Congressman Nehls. “The American people continue to suffer due to the policies of Joe Biden and his administration. Since Joe Biden took office, over 8.7 million illegal aliens have crossed our borders nationwide, and inflation is up 17.9%. We cannot continue the Swamp’s status quo. It’s long past time to rein in wasteful government spending and seriously address the crises that the Left and Biden Administration have willfully created. I cannot support another short-term CR that enables the chaos that currently plagues our nation.”
