Proposed Project: Sugar Land Storm Water & Drainage Improements Project

Request Amount: $1,360,000
Explanation of Request: The funding would be used to address excessive flooding in the Riverbend neighborhood, which hinders emergency response and causes property damage.

Proposed Recipient: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Houston
Proposed Project: This project will support programming for 1:1 mentoring for Greater Houston area for at-risk youth. FY 2024 funding will be used to further the impact of the outcomes-achieving Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring program operations across the Greater Houston area, including Fort Bend County.

Request Amount: $250,000
Explanation of Request: The funds requested will allow for Big Brothers Big Sisters to continue to provide life-changing mentoring nationally, which they have conducted for nearly 120 years and in the Houston area since 1950. BBBS seeks to improve the lives of low-income and at-risk youth by engaging families, schools, and communities in mentoring activities.

Proposed Project: Bolstering services and programming for children who have been abused and neglected in Fort Bend County, TX.

Explanation of Request: These funds will be used for partial salaries for advocacy specialists, recruiting, onboarding, and training costs, multi-disciplinary team coordinators, additional therapists and mental health professionals, and partial salaries for an outreach coordinator and social media campaigns.

Proposed Recipient: Texas Department of Transportation
Proposed Project:  Right of Way (ROW) acquisition and utility relocation of the section of the future I-69 Corridor on the north side of El Campo, TX.
Recipient Location: 125 E 11th St, Austin, TX 78701
Request Amount: $3,600,000
Explanation of Request: US-59 is part of the congressionally designated I-69 Corridor and will address infrastructure demands due to growing North American freight volumes, safety and storm evacuation improvements and encourage economic development in the region. The I-69 System in Texas is included in the Texas Primary Freight Network and Development Authority for the project is included in the current Unified Transportation Plan (UTP). This project is also located on one of only four priority Statewide/Rural Connectivity Corridors designated by TxDOT.

Proposed Project:  10th Street Realignment Overpass Project
Recipient Location: 200 Houston St, Richmond, TX 77469
Request Amount: $1,000,000
Explanation of Request: The 10th Street Realignment Project Overpass Project coincides with the long-range plans for the Brazos River crossing. Currently, the railroad divides the city in half and the activity of the trains and train stops isolate the north side from emergency services. This project will eventually assist with emergency evacuations.

Proposed Project: Reconstruction of the TW Davis Family YMCA located in Richmond, Texas serving the Greater Fort Bend County Community at 911 Thompson Hwy. Richmond, Texas 77469.
Recipient Location: 1331 Augusta Dr, Houston, TX 77057
Request Amount: $3,000,000
Explanation of Request: The funding requested is for the reconstruction of an aging community services facility, the TW Davis Family YMCA, which provides critical and essential programming that supports education, college/career readiness, public safety, and healthy communities in the Richmond and Rosenberg areas. Programs to be offered include but are not limited to childcare, aging adult services, family services, drowning prevention, community health, and physical/mental health wellness activities.
