As a Member of the House Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure, I understand that infrastructure investment is critical to Texas’ 22nd Congressional District, Texas, and our nation. My work on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee gives me the opportunity to focus on numerous issues such as highway development, national security, and flood risk management. Smartly addressing transportation challenges in forward-thinking and innovative ways remains one of the most important issues as our district continues to experience tremendous growth.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Troy E. Nehls (R-TX-22) introduced the Let Experienced Pilots Fly Act of 2023. This bill would allow pilots to continue operations until they reach the age of 67. It would also require the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to submit a report to Congress regarding further age increases. The bill requires air carriers to maintain the rigorous medical and training requirements all other pilots in the industry are expected to maintain.
